Description of profession:

  • Reading and applying technical documentation
  • Determining work steps, materials, tools and methods
  • Planning and controlling work procedures, evaluating work results, applying quality management systems
  • Performing work in compliance with applicable safety rules and standards as well as relevant environmental standards
  • Selecting, procuring and checking required material
  • Machining mechanical parts, assembling mechanical assemblies and components
  • Creating and adjusting manufacturing programmes for CNC machines and plants
  • Assembling, installing, testing and commissioning machines and plants
  • Manufacturing and installing spare parts and machine elements
  • Maintaining and servicing machine and plant parts
  • Manufacturing, installing and testing pneumatic and hydraulic control systems
  • Measuring and evaluating mechanical engineering parameters
  • Finding, locating and resolving faults, defects and malfunctions of machines and plants
  • Creating and documenting technical data concerning work procedures and results
