Description of profession:

  • Reading and applying technical documentation
  • Determining work steps, materials, tools and methods
  • Planning and controlling work procedures, evaluating work results, applying quality management systems
  • Manufacturing and machining mechatronical parts, assembly and adjustment of mechatronical assemblies and components
  • Assembling and installing mechanical, electric and electronic parts, assemblies and components
  • Measuring and evaluating electric and mechanical engineering parameters
  • Installing and testing mechatronical hardware and software components
  • Setting up and testing electric, pneumatic and hydraulic controls
  • Programming and testing mechatronic systems
  • Assembling, installing and checking machines, systems and plants
  • Installing, testing, adjusting, commissioning and handing over application-specific systems in devices, machines and plants
  • Maintaining and servicing mechatronic systems
  • Finding, locating and rectifying faults, defects and malfunctions of mechatronic systems
  • Providing, testing and documenting safety measures to prevent personal and material damage
  • Performing work in compliance with applicable safety rules and standards as well as relevant environmental standards
  • Creating and documenting technical data concerning work procedures and results
  • Training clients in the use, application and service of mechatronic systems
