Robert Kanduth, provincial councillor Beate Prettner and Deputy Governor Peter Kaiser press the button to start production for the very first time.

A collector leaves the new tray production line every minute.
The new tray collector production line is the world's fastest - one solar collector can be producted every minute, meaning a potential annual output of around 450,000 units. The high speed is achieved by using four robots and fully automating the plant. The extent of the quality control is also unique in the world. Every step of the production and assembly process is meticulously inspected, monitored by cameras and recorded. This ensures not just consistently high accuracy and quality but also the traceability of each individual collector based on its serial number.
"This plant is a milestone in collector manufacturing. Such a sophisticated quality and control system is unprecedented. As is the degree of automation", explains Managing Director Robert Kanduth.
But even if the new production line operates almost fully automatically - in this plant as well the human factor remains indispensable. Each shift employs seven workers on the line. 10 new employees in all were taken on for this production line.
The production plant was designed and developed in collaboration with another Carinthian company. It took ten months in total from ordering the plant to commissioning it. The total investment in the plant and quality assurance measures amounts to € 4 million.
