European Day of Sunshine

The European Day of Sunshine heightens the awareness of solar energy as an alternative. The campaign was started in Austria eight years ago by the Austria Solar Association and was launched in 16 European countries in 2009. The search for alternatives to oil, gas and coal is more relevant than ever – solar energy is already able to provide a notable portion of the energy required for hot water and heating. This year too, the Day of Sunshine attracted numerous visitors to GREENoneTEC to view the production facilities and to SONNENKRAFT for the "Incentives" information event.

2010 | A year full of energy

And on the Day of Sunshine, GREENoneTEC was also formally opened full of energy as the Energy | Scene under the Carinthia campaign.

With a broad energy offensive by the energy minister for the state of Carinthia, in 2010 the potential of alternative energies will be presented and made tangible to Carinthian residents so they can be actually experienced. A total of 10 Energy | Scenes can be visited throughout the year. It will be demonstrated that without energy, our life stands still: it makes our everyday life comfortable, creates jobs and connects people. Energy is a social task, because energy is the economic factor for a future-facing Carinthia.

On the second Friday of every month, GREENoneTEC will grant a unique view behind its production scenes. The next guided tours will be at 9.00 and 11.00 hrs on: 21. May 11, June 25, June 16, July 20, August 10, September and September 24, 2010. Register at: Phone: +43 (0)463 419 100; email: kathrin.nagy-kozar@arco.at
