Minister of the Environment Niki Berlakovich with Robert Kanduth, CEO at GREENoneTEC
The Minister of the Environment and his team were welcomed by Robert Kanduth, CEO at GREENoneTEC, and enjoyed a tour through the 25,000m2 of company premises in St. Veit a.d. Glan.
The Minister was visibly impressed by the GREENoneTEC's most recent investment: the expanded FK 8000 robotic production line, which has only just reached completion. The latest generation of GREENoneTEC collectors, lightweight frame collectors, is now produced at triple the capacity on this line.
In his closing speech, Robert Kanduth referred to extracts from the Solar Energy Roadmap 2020 to emphasise once more the potential of Austria's solar market. "By 2020, there could be ten times the current m2 of collector surface installed in Austria. This could create more than 63,000 new jobs and, with sales of 15 billion euro in 2020, the added value would be enormous!" explains Robert Kanduth, again citing the solar industry as a job accelerator and important economic factor.
Other key issues were the imminent threat of energy-dependency, the growing raw material shortage and the resultant rise in energy prices. "The move away from fossil fuels in favour of renewable energies is an important and inevitable one, and not only in view of the EU's target to boost consumption of renewable energies to 20% by 2020. I will be strengthening my commitment to a continuous promotional policy for solar thermal energy!" Minister Berlakovich finally affirmed.
