This was the 7th Austrian Export Day, staged in the Austrian Chamber of Commerce under the motto "Meet the world". Austrian trade delegates from more than 76 countries offered visitors a wealth of first hand advice and information in a compact programme of high quality podium discussions and workshops on important aspects of internationalisation.
This concluded with an export prize gala, moderated by Alfons Haider, with the Austrian export prize 2009 being awarded by the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Christoph Leitl. The 3 best Austrian export companies in each of the categories crafts and trades, trade, industry, information/consulting and tourism/leisure were honoured.
With turnover of 117 million euros in 2008 and an export ratio of 87%, GREENoneTEC, the world's market leader for flat plate solar collectors won an excellent second place in the industry category. GREENoneTEC exports to more than 20 countries worldwide and has a European market share of just under 30%. "Not least because of the 20-20-20 goals for solar thermal energy, there are still enormous growth opportunities within the EU, which is one of our main export markets. We are confident that we can increase our proportion of exports yet further in the years ahead", said Robert Kanduth, GREENoneTEC's CEO, who was pleased with the further accolade paid to his company and optimistic about the future of the solar industry.
